Thinking About Linking

We learned to link websites to our wiki page.  I did not realize we could do this so easily.  When I thought of linking web pages to my wiki, I was thinking we would just copy paste the URL next to what we wanted to link.  When in actuality, you highlight the word or words in which you want to link and can post a page using the words on the page not the actual website address. I know this is confusing, but I thought it was very interesting and exciting to learn this new way of linking sites to my wiki.  I will definitely use this a lot more when working on my wiki or other documents that are able to be linked to another URL. This gives viewer more information and other pages in which to explore.

Smooth as Peanut Butter

Today I learned about PBWorks. This program is great!! I have never used a wiki before and it seems to be very easy to work with.  I was easy to start a program and open a new wiki page.  This site will be a tremendous help in teaching.  Teachers can use it to organize and share ideas in a simple and practical way.  One could even use it with parents to keep everyone informed.  The only problem being the education part on learning to use a wiki.  I am excited to start using PBWorks with my peers as well as others.  I would not change anything about my experience with wiki and look forward to learning more about it.

Starting the Course

I am looking forward to learning about blogs. I have never had a blog before and it will be a great experience for my future in education. I believe blogging is a great way of keeping people informed and interested in important events, as well as other things.
